Our commitment to

Sustainability

As a company we are trying to be as environmentally sustainable as we can and will try our best to improve and keep up with new innovations that apply to us. We have considered everything that goes into our products, the packaging that contains our products, the packaging we use to ship our products to our customers and the location of our suppliers to ensure they are as local to us as possible.

 Packaging Materials

  • Both our Business cards and Affirmation cards are printed on 100% post consumer waste recycled papers that have been processed without the use of chlorine or chlorine derivatives, are manufactured carbon neutral and can in turn be recycled again.

The cards are printed with vegetable based inks which are a renewable resource and do not require harmful solvents/chemicals for cleaning the printing presses.

  • We made the decision to use glass over plastic for all our flower essences including the mists and our magnesium sprays due to glass being non-toxic to humans and the environment.

Glass is not associated with having a negative impact on your health, it is less porous than plastic and is unlikely to leech into products. It is also a 100% recyclable material that does not lose it’s quality when it is recycled meaning it can be recycled over and over unlike plastic.

  • The pump spray part of our Flower Essence mists and Magnesium Sprays is made up of many components such as springs, tubes, nozzles and more. Due to this, they can be difficult to recycle but a lot of recycling companies such as Go For Zero, Banish Recycling And Disposal Program or TerraCycle do take these pumps and recycle them. Please note: we are not affiliated with any particular program.

Our Magnesium Sprays can be refilled by purchasing our refill bottle and by reusing them means no plastic is required to make a new pump spray. Unfortunately due to the nature of our Flower Essence products, we do not offer a refill.

Alternatively you can repurpose your mist/spray bottles by cleaning the glass bottle and mist sprayer and refilling it with another product such DIY air freshener, cleaning or skincare products.

Our droppers that come with our 30ml and 50ml flower essences can be recycled by cleaning them out, drying them, separating them into individual pieces and placing them into your recycling bin.

Alternatively, you can repurpose your dropper bottle and use it for many different things such as decanting other skincare products into the cleaned bottles and using them whilst travelling.

  • Our Pure Magnesium Bath Flakes bags can be recycled through the REDcycle program when it restarts. The ACCC has announced that it has granted conditional authorisation to allow the major supermarkets to continue their collaboration to manage the soft plastics stockpile and resume in-store collections after REDcycle was suspended.

  • We chose to use BPA free plastic tubes that are recycle code number 5 for our lip balms which can be put into your local council kerbside recycling bin or alternatively sent to recycling program such TerraCycle or Banish Recycling and Disposal Program (BRAD). We did trial compostable cardboard tubes as an alternative to plastic but found they did not suit our product or hold up well.

  • Where possible and if suitable we collect and reuse packing materials from our suppliers and give them a second life.

If none or only some of these are available we use:

Crinkle Paper - 100% compostable and recyclable. There are no harmful chemicals used in its production, it is made locally in Melbourne and it is made from PEFC Certified Paper (The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification).

Tissue Paper - 100% Recyclable. Recycle in your kerbside recycling bin. Eco-Friendly.

Labels - Our labels are 100% compostable including the adhesive and made from all natural and unbleached sugarcane paper.

Honeycomb Wrap - 100% Recyclable and Biodegradable. Recycle in your kerbside recycling bin. Eco alternative to bubble wrap. Made from 100% recyclable and renewable Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) paper meaning the materials used to make the product can be traced back to healthy, sustainably managed forests.

Postage Box - 100% fully recyclable. Recycle in your kerbside recycling bin. Our postage boxes are also Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified products, meaning the materials used to make the product can be traced back to healthy, sustainably managed forests.

Tape - Biodegradable and recyclable with soft plastics. Can also be disposed of in the general rubbish bin and once it hits landfill the biodegradation is accelerated approximately 90%+ faster than conventional tape, producing an organic matter (a natural fertiliser) and no microplastics.

  • All our suppliers are based in Australia and where possible we have chosen local suppliers in Western Australia to reduce our carbon footprint.
